Midnight in the 60's. Elvis is King of Rock & Roll, and WVLK's DJ "The
Nighthawk" is spinning his hits until dawn. Everybody in Lexington is talking
about the new special at Columbia Steak House.
"The Nighthawk's" real name was Tom Kindall. For decades his mellow, baritone
voice kept Lexington's night-scene alive with the sounds of nostalgia and made
"The Nighthawk" a legend in local broadcasting.
By the time our revered, old Nighthawk retired, Columbia Steak House's special
had become a Lexington legend in its own right. That's when we got the idea to
relive the good old days, and cement The Legend of The Nighthawk into
Lexington's history forever.
So, once a year, we roll back time and prices to the 1960's with The Nighthawk
Special. It's just our way of reminding people of a simpler time with good food
at super low prices.
